Your Preaching Is Nigeria’s Problem – Obi Blasts Some Preachers Supporting Tinubu’s Victory

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, in the just concluded presidential election, has berated some Nigerian preachers who attributed the victory of the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the February 25 election as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, saying their preaching was the problem of Nigeria.

Obi stated that those preachers were using the name of God in vain, adding that the problem of Nigeria was accepting wrongdoing and the unacceptable.

He stated this during an interview with the Arise Television while responding to a question seeking to know if he would accept the victory of Tinubu as God’s will as some clerics said.

The former Governor of Anambra state insisted that Tinubu’s presidency wasn’t God’s plan for the country.

Obi said: “What they are actually preaching is the problem of Nigeria. The problem of Nigeria is accepting wrongdoing and what is unacceptable. That is using God’s name in vain. That is not what God is saying. God said do not use my name in vain.”

Tinubu was declared the winner of the 2023 controversial presidential election by INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, against concerns raised by the opposition political parties.

The main opposition parties in the election had staged a walk-out during the collation of the presidential election results in Abuja, accusing the INEC boss of releasing reaults not consistent with the polling units results.
