Senate Presidency: We Have Enough Evidence That Obi Won Presidential Election – Ohaneze Cautions Faction

Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, has expressed displeasure over the activities of its faction led by Mazi Chidi Ibeh.

The group disowned the activities of the faction, calling on the members of the public to disregard any information coming from the faction.

The Igbo organization stated this following a press release by the faction with the theme: ‘Ohanaeze Ndigbo Canvasses For Umahi’s Senate Presidency’, where a call was made for the position of the Senate Presidency to be zoned to the South East and specifically given to the current Governor of Ebonyi state, David Umahi.

Ohanaeze described the statements continuously issued by the Ibeh-led Ohaneze in its name as misleading, adding that it had done everything possible to stop the spokesman of the faction, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, from the damages he’s causing the group’s image via misleading publications.

Dr. Alex Ogbonnia, the Publicity Secretary of Ohaneze Ndigbo, pointed out that the organization had obtained a court order stopping the faction from parading itself as Ohaneze representatives.

Speaking on the faction’s call for the senate presidency to be zoned to the South East, Ohaneze re-emphasized on its support for Obi, noting that there was enough evidence to prove that Obi won the 2023 presidential election held on 25 February.

The Igbo socio-cultural organization described it as a huge embarrassment for it to lose focus on the efforts being made by groups, international community, and Nigerian youths to restore equity, justice, and good governance in the country.

“We also have the supreme confidence that the unfolding events at various levels will surely vindicate the just. It is therefore a huge embarrassment that while the Afenifere, the PANDEF, the Middle Belt, the Arewa, the long oppressed Nigerian youths, the international community, etc are very busy, working hard for the enthronement of social justice, equity and good governance in Nigeria and to pluck the low hanging fruit, a meddlesome interloper will present Ohanaeze Ndigbo as a group without a focus on the ball and a sell-out to the Obi-Datti Movement.

“Let it be known that Ohanaeze does not antagonize the lofty ambition or the aspiration of anybody, but the illegitimate use of the hallowed name of Ohanaeze Ndigbo is both anathematic and reprehensible,” says Ohanaeze
