Reports reaching us has it that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has finally granted Labour Party access to the materials used for conduct of the 25 February Presidential election in Nigeria.
The presidential election tribunal had granted the party its request to inspect the election materials amidst rigging suspicion, but the electoral body allegedly denied the party access to the materials.
However, hours after LP called for a nationwide protest against the refusal of the commission to give them access to the electoral materials, Tanko Yunusa, the LP campaign spokesman who spoke to the Whistler, affirmed that they had received access to the materials.
“Yes, they have granted us access, we are meeting with the chairman now. We have our team of lawyers and technical experts with us,” Tanko said on Monday.
