Amaechi Makes Shocking Revelation, Says INEC National Chairman Was Nominated For Appointment By Tinubu Camp Member [Video]

Rotimi Amaechi, the Immediate past Minister of Transportation, has revealed that Professor Mahmood Yakubu, the National Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, was nominated for appointment by a member of the President-elect, Ahmed Tinubu’s camp.

He described the polls held by the electoral umpire under the leadership of Yakubu as totally hopeless.

The former Governor of Rivers State made this known while speaking to newsmen during the state level elections on Saturday.

The All Progressives Congress, APC’s Chieftain pointed out that he was one of the persons that opposed the move to have him reappointed into the position.

Amaechi further said that the election being held in Rivers State was between INEC, APC and SDP, not against the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.

He further revealed that the INEC Chairman once served as the Executive Secretary of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, TETFUND, in Rivers State Under Nyesom Wike, the Governor of Rivers State.

According to him: “I have spoken to everybody concerned on this issue before the election. There are those of us who opposed the reappointment of Mahmood.

“The person who nominated him for appointment is a member of Tinubu’s camp. So what were you expecting – success?

“Here in Rivers State, Mahmood worked under (Governor Nyesom) Wike as Executive Secretary of TETFUND so what you see here in Rivers state is that APC, SDP and the rest are contesting election not against PDP – against INEC, against police.”

Amidst controversies, the INEC Chairman had gone ahead to declare, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, the winner of 2023 presidential election held on 25 February.
