Justice Olukayode Adeniyi, the Chairman of the Election Petition Tribunal in Calabar, has given his word that the tribunal will carry out its responsibilities without prejudice or partiality. This assurance was made during the tribunal’s inaugural session in Calabar on Wednesday.

Adeniyi emphasized that the tribunal would strive to deliver verdicts that reflect the actual winners of the National and State House of Assembly elections recently held in the state. In the course of his remarks, he also requested that all parties involved in the tribunal’s proceedings cooperate fully.

The panel is made up of three members, including Justice Eva Okoronkwo and Justice Z. U. Modibbo, who were both present with Adeniyi at the time.

According to him, “We shall discharge our duties to the best of our abilities and always remain mindful of the oath we took.

“We assure all litigants of a fair trial and we will not entertain any form of interference from any quarter,” he said
