BREAKING: Saturday’s Guber, State Assembly Elections Reportedly Postponed By INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has reportedly postponed the state level elections scheduled for 11 March, 2023.

The new date for the elections is 18 March, 2023.

A reliable source in the commission told the Whistler that the decision to postpone the election was because of its inability to instantly start reconfiguring the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System, BVAS, used for the last presidential election to enable its use for the gubernatorial and houses of assembly elections.

The commission was today, granted permission by the presidential election tribunal to reconfigure the machines ahead of the gubernatorial elections, but was instructed to make certified true copies of the election materials to Peter Obi of the Labour Party and store the data contained in the BIVAS on the server.
