Trump Says Russia-Ukraine War Will End Within 24 Hours If Re-elected President

The immediate past President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has stated that his presidency will put an end to the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine in just 24 hours.

Trump shared his strong desire for a halt to the killings at the crisis, adding that his focal point would not be on who lost or who won but to resolve the matter.

The former US president said he would meet both Vladimir Putin and his counterpart in Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

The war started last year February, and has led to the death of many, and destruction of a lot of property, mainly in Ukraine.

Speaking at a town hall of the Cable News Network, CNN, Trump said before a live audience in the state of New Hampshire that:

“I don’t think in terms of winning and losing. I think in terms of getting it settled.

“I want everybody to stop dying. They’re dying. Russians and Ukrainians. I want them to stop dying. And I’ll have that done.

“I’ll have that done in 24 hours. I’ll have it done. You need the power of the presidency to do it,” Trump said.

“I’ll meet with Putin. I’ll meet with Zelensky. They both have weaknesses and they both have strengths. And within 24 hours, that war will be settled. It’ll be over,” Trump said.

Speaking on whether or not Putin had committed a war crime, the former President noted that calling the Russian President a war criminal would make it difficult for a deal to be struck on the matter.

“If you say he’s a war criminal it’s going to be a lot tougher to make a deal to make this thing stopped,” he stated.

“If he’s going to be a war criminal, people are going to grab him and execute him, he’s going to fight a lot harder than he’s fighting under the other circumstance. That’s something to be discussed at a later day.”

He stated that he thought “Putin made a mistake” by his invasion of Ukraine.

Speaking further, he said “His mistake was going in. He would have never gone in if I was president.”

Trump failed to get a second term after his four years presidency between 2016 and 2020.

He has already indicated interest to run in 2024 presidency in the country.
